Melanie is a Registered Social Worker providing individual, couples and family therapy to adults in St. John’s, NL.
She specializes in working with couples and relationships, grief and loss, bereavement, anxiety, depression, stress and life transitions. With nearly 20 years of clinical experience, Melanie supports individuals and couples in enhancing their overall well-being.
Melanie has completed advanced training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mental Health First Aid. She integrates these evidence-based therapies into her practice as well as, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and a trauma-informed approach.
Melanie holds a Master of Social Work from Memorial University and Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Certificate in Criminology from Memorial University.
